Our goal is to provide children and youth with affirming care and love through the teachings of Jesus. We do this primarily by providing Sunday school during the regular worship service. Currently, as most of our parish members do not have young children, we are providing care for a small number of grandchildren. We hope to attract young families to our parish in order to spread the love of God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Parish volunteers take young children to the undercroft classroom for Christian Education before the Bible readings and return them to the nave at Communion. A simple snack is provided as well as age appropriate activities. When children are present during the service, they are encouraged to take part by helping to bring the gifts to the altar. They are also involved in greeting and helping with coffee hour if they are able.
Our outreach to teenagers is currently in the form of support at their normal gathering places, such as at school and sports events.
